Front-end upload of big NML leads to slow initial load on next open

- import a big NML (e.g., 200k nodes) via the front-end import (i.e., dnd into an active annotation)
- save
- reload --> the reload can take ~15 minutes, since the backend lazily applies all update actions now
- second reload will be relatively fast

Can we improve the performance for this workflow somehow?
