highlighting always shows dark colour scheme

As in title, even when system is in light mode, the syntax highlighting stays in the dark colour scheme. This seems to persist after restarts and reinstallation of the Syntax Highlight app.

(Dark mode, but always shows light mode; HTML rendering does indeed fix it.)

I always get dark mode, regardless of rendering engine :/
