Sandboxie not allowing custom firefox portable icon on taskbar

Describe what you noticed and did

1. start firefox via firefoxportable.exe
2. type about:config in browser url
3. look for "toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.windowIcon" , enable to true
4. create a custom icon in \App\Firefox64\browser\chrome\icons\default called main-window.ico
5. restart firefox (custom firefox icon appears on taskbar)

when I start firefox portable outside of sandboxie, the correct icon appears on the taskbar

I did not see the main-window.ico entry in the log. This most likely means the box is not in a clean state. Therefore, if the setting is not configured from within the box, the custom icon will not appear.

no the icon is made outside of the box but it should be able to read it since I have the following lines in my sandboxie.ini

an example full path of where it would reside is:

D:\Program Files\FirefoxPortable1\App\Firefox64\browser\chrome\icons\default\main-window.ico

unless OpenFilePath is not recursive.

my apologies, I didn't understand how to trigger the Trace logging properly. I figured it out and captured another log.

Based on the log, it appears that the setting is active, and Firefox can directly access the icon file. However, I don't know why this icon doesn't appear when Firefox is running in the sandbox on your system. My tests on Windows 10/11 show no problems with the icon display. Furthermore, there's a configuration added to Firefox by Bitdefender, which may be the cause of the problem. (bd_config.cfg/bd_js_config.js)

To investigate further, I recommend using a tool like Process Monitor to verify if the sandboxed Firefox process is being blocked from accessing the main-window.ico file.
