Use of deprecated metamask method

Hi!
I was checking whether the app works on our dapp browser https://github.com/status-im/status-react
and I noticed that it makes use of a deprecated metamask field selectedAccount (https://docs.metamask.io/guide/ethereum-provider.html#ethereum-selectedaddress-deprecated which we currently don't support).
Would you mind please use the standard alternative?
