Where are the generated .desktop files located?

I made a .desktop file for DJV but after I hit Save, I can't locate the generated .desktop file.

I've searched in both /usr/share/applications and $XDG_HOME/.local/share/applications but can't see it in either of those dirs.

The generated .desktop file shows up in fuzzel (app launcher), but is nowhere to be found inside the aforementioned directories.
