Input Layout Behavior During Remote Sessions

We are using RustDesk Server Pro and deploying the client via Intune. During remote sessions, we’ve noticed that RustDesk automatically applies the mouse and keyboard layout of the remote machine. This includes:

• Scroll direction
• Left/right-handed mouse configuration
• Keyboard layout (e.g., QWERTZ vs. QWERTY)

This behavior causes confusion for the person initiating the remote session, especially when their local input configuration differs from the remote system.

We are unsure whether this is a bug or intended behavior. If it is by design, we would like to suggest an option to force the local input layout during remote sessions, or at least allow it to be configurable via:

• Advanced client settings
• Custom client configuration in the RustDesk Pro web console
• Deployment parameters (e.g., via Intune or PMPC)

This would significantly improve the user experience for administrators and support staff.

For the keybord layout, you can switch to "Translate mode beta".

If it is by design, we would like to suggest an option to force the local input layout during remote sessions
