What is the purpose of the ghost element?

I'm debugging a weird issue related to the ghost element (data-rmiz-ghost), I'm wondering what is the purpose of it? Can I set a display: none on it?

@wong2 The purpose of it is to provide a container, exactly the same size and position as the image, that can house a zooming button that can be used by keyboard and screen reader users (or anyone with assistive tech).

What issue are you running into?
