Enabled the Discussions feature and migrated discussion-type issues

As we'd like the reserve the issue tracker for actual issues (including enhancement requests and TODOs), we've enabled the Discussions feature on this repository and have migrated some still open discussion-like issues to it.

Please use the discussion board here for Q&A and general interaction with the maintainers.

The discussion board is not the place to report bugs: please use the issue tracker for those instead.
