How to check firmware version with GroBro?

Have my Noahs (2 in a stack) now completly offline with GoBro. Works like a charm.
But how to check firmware version now? Even if I don´t block internet access for the Noah in my router, I don´t know the version and can´t check if a new version is available.
How do you guys solved this?

Maybe I‘m oldschool, but if you don’t hit a problem why should you update the firmware anyway? Growatt isn’t providing changelogs and a firmware update could do more harm than good.

I´m hoping that they change the charge/discharge behavior when 2 Noah in Stack. Actually soc´s are drifting massivly.
For example: Bat1 soc is at 20%, Bat2 is at 35%.
No matter if you set discharge limit to e.g. 3% , Bat 1 is going to zero, while Bat2 is going down to 15% and than output stops.
so there are 15% of Bat2 you can´t use.
Hope that they will change that.

But yes, I´m absolutly with you. Never change a running system....

You could activate message forwarding every few month to get the units online. They will update more or less immediately, because Growatt checks the version and pushes the upgrade command afterwards.

You could join this projects matrix channel as well and ask others if they have drifting charge levels too. Maybe someone already got a new version and noticed a change.

btw, register for Noah heating is also missing ;-)

We already parse the datalogger version. For BMS it’s a different story - I had no success decoding it yet. One problem is that I only own a NEO inverter but no battery. I just can work on messages by someone else.

Are those the messages you can get by setting "DUMP_MESSAGES=true" ? I could provide such at least for a noah 2000.

Yes, but second factor would be time to analyse them. Sadly a resource I‘m short off. 😄

Nevertheless you could dump a few days, compress them and send them over by mail or via Matrix. Ideally along with your current fw version, so that I can double check.

Yes, time is often hard to find :)
I can prepare some dumped files, but as going for holiday first, don´t expect anything before beginning september.

Need to check matrix before anyway...
