Tagging Stable Head

Hi Rob, everyone,

There has been a lot of changes in the codebase in the last couple of weeks, black formatting, refactoring, changes to processes, etc.

Would it be possible to tag the head with a version, once Rob/others feel master is stable again, with not many new changes being submitted for a period.

Yes I will do one in a week or so - I'm finished with this sprint today, so will give it a few days to see if there any problems.

I was thinking now (2023) would be a good time to tag a new release since there were some important changes recently such as separating certain run scripts, changes to roll configs for certain instruments, black formatting etc.

It is not a big deal, I can always get latest master branch. Is it fair to assume you always use latest master in your production system?
