jruby - unable to compile/ install

I am trying to 'gem install xapian-full-alaveteli -v '1.2.9.5' but failing:

My envrionment: rvm list > =* jruby-1.7.0 [ i386 ]

Use RbConfig instead of obsolete and deprecated Config.
checking for /home/sidfunktion/.rvm/rubies/jruby-1.7.0/lib/ruby/1.9/ruby.h... no (install ruby-dev or ruby-devel package or similar)
configure: error: ruby.h not found
rake aborted!

I think the make config configuration is wrong, wrong lib paths missing cext or sth like this.

I opened a bug on jruby ( https://jira.codehaus.org/browse/JRUBY-7023 ) but it is an issue of the xapian-full gem.

The error message shows this:

rake aborted!

Sounds like the gem does not work with JRuby after all, does it? But why?
