Setting up Conda for MacOS

I am attempting to setup a Conda environment for MacOS.

I tried the conda/nvironment_for_macos.yml file but ran into the following error.

% conda env create -f environment_for_macos.yml
...
Channels:
 - conda-forge
 - defaults
Platform: osx-arm64
Collecting package metadata (repodata.json): done
Solving environment: failed

PackagesNotFoundError: The following packages are not available from current channels:
....

Has anyone else tried this before? Is there a recommended resolution?

So I've been taking a different approach lately when creating a new sparta-based conda environment.

It seems that the environmental files are just always out of date. So, I decided to install the bare minimum programs to get started:

• cmake
• clang
• boost

And then just tried to build sparta. Sparta tells you what's missing. I installed the packages it needed until it built.

I have a branch of map which has these directions in it. I'll try to merge that in, but you can at least try what I suggests above.

Used the macos_env.yml from #242 and attempted to build Olympia. Was able to reproduce zstd issue, as follows:

Will look into possible resolution.

Can you copy/paste the link line and remove -lzstd?
