Thoughts
Given that this was my first work I completely organized, everything went really well.
Aside from that, it was pure chaos.
What happened
- workshop structure was not well defined
- hard to make it like a class because some students will encounter issues which slow down the pace
- hard to work one-on-one because only a 2 instructors
- There were a lot of questions I did not have the answers to on hand
- Some people were unaware they needed a mac with Xcode installed
- Material was definitely too advanced to be called an introductory workshop
Future plans
I should break-up the workshop into 3-5 parts + one before for setting up macOS VMs on windows / linux.
Organize workshops into more interactive and less instructional.
- Use Swift Playgrounds and have them code alongside, [more engaging]
I wrote down questions I was asked, and I will ensure I can answer these next time
- I should anticipate questions, and prepare answers beforehand
