Possible Audiobook improvements: server side, Tab for audiobooks and labelling

Would it be possible to pass requests to the server, have it process the task server side, label the audios with the document name and possibly have a tab by which they could be accessed? maybe with the percentage bar on processing documents in the list?

If these are changes you also feel would improve the project and are worth your time anyways.

(With some documents when finished it simply closes and then that is however much time spent wasted, which is another reason i was thinking about this, I've spent a few hours now generating different documents just to have them poof into nothing. Most of the time it works really great though. 👍)

The documents shouldn't turn into nothing. Are you on v0.2.3? I fixed a lot of audiobook issues there.

Yes i am on the most recent version.

It gets to 100% and acts like its about to pop up with the normal save window, then instead it just reverts to the normal screen before you generate, like it has been saved and just skips allowing it to be saved.

It also seems to happen more often on extremely long documents.

If you have it updated, you're good.

I have only tested it on 5 hour novella. How long are the documents you are trying?

If you still have issues, make an issue not a discussion.

@AncientMystic Also, are you try to export to mp3 or m4b? You might have better luck with mp3 right now for very long documents.

The longest i had successfully generated so far was 4 hours 5 minutes long, but i just finished one @ 7 hours and 47 min long, thats the longest successful one so far.

The discussion was mainly for the suggestions, thank you for the advice on the issues mentioned, I appreciate it.

I had indeed been using m4b on most of them, i just cleared and redownloaded the latest version again and i generated the nearly 8 hour document after that, now i am trying another that failed before to see if there is a difference there.

For the suggestions you made in the beginning, I don't really understand what you are suggesting for the app. Are you saying you want to me able to export all documents at once and have a progress bar for each one? That would not be possible as it would greatly overwhelm your Kokoro server.

I am trying more now, i will let you know if i get one over 10 hours xD (i am just generating random books on spiritual topics i have collected and want on audiobookshelf for now)

I was thinking something like a tab next to pdfs with a list of audios similar to the pdf list, linked to a folder on the server where the generated documents could be kept and you could click to download them.

if it could be done server side with the label of the text automatically added to the audio file, then the server could just handle requests and generate them one by one saving them to a local folder to be downloaded from the server, possibly with a progress bar on the item in the list.

Definitely not thinking multiple at once, its slow enough with just one at once haha and handling the different requests and sorting them to the right files, etc, without interrupting, overwhelming or breaking anything just sounds like a headache for sure and a lot of coding i would guess you wouldn't even want to bother with that even if it was possible.
