Histogram as legend

A recent innovation that I've seen with maps is using (color-mapped) histogram legends to convey overall frequencies alongside spatial occurrence. Some nice examples here: https://www.andrewheiss.com/blog/2025/02/19/ggplot-histogram-legend/index.html

I'm not sure how much work it would be, but seems like a cool potential feature for this package.
