Switching to this Integration: Impact on Existing Setup?

I understand that this is a fork of the original repository, which no longer appears to be actively maintained. My question is: if I install this fork, do I need to remove the original integration?

Additionally, if I do remove the original integration, will the entities added by this fork be treated as new entities? If so, will I need to update all my automations and configurations related to Victron?
