Conditionally set pollingInterval based on what's returned from the endpoint

I'm curious how I would go about this. My current solution looks like this.

const [pending, setPending] = useState(false);
const { data: companyInfo, isLoading: isLoadingCompanyInfo } =
  useGetCompanyQuery(
    { companyId },
    { pollingInterval: pending ? 1000 * 60 : 0 }
);

...
if (pending && companyInfo.ewr.status !== EwrStatus.Pending) {
  // disable polling
  setPending(false);
}

...

if (!pending && companyInfo.ewr.status === EwrStatus.Pending) {
  // enable polling
  setPending(true);
}

Could a nicer solution to this be to let me pass a function to pollingInterval which runs whenever the subscription returns something and then I can put the pollingInterval logic in there?
