Change title to show ssh server url when using ssh

hello! when i ssh into a server from rio the title bar simply says ssh. Is it possible to have ssh user@domain.com as the title instead?

Hey @ajinkya-k you can configure title with this api https://rioterm.com/docs/config#titlecontent so you could use program variable but not sure the best way to user@domain.com

I am on a mac. Sorry I should have asked if there is a config variable for the second argument

No worries! tbh I never configured that myself, I know is possible to create or edit your ~/.sshrc file:

# ~/.sshrc
    if [ -n "$SSH_CONNECTION" ]; then
      original_title=$(printf "\033]0;%s@%s:%s\007" "${USER}" "$(hostname)" "${PWD}")
      echo -ne "\033]0;${USER}@$(hostname):$PWD\007"
    fi

    # Execute the SSH command
    "$@"

    # Restore the original title
    if [ -n "$SSH_CONNECTION" ]; then
      echo -ne "$original_title"
    fi

then chmod +x ~/.sshrc

or you can use the hostname command within the SSH session to get the server's hostname. However, this won't directly change the terminal title, but it can be used as part of a script or configuration. Like printf "\033]0;%s@%s:%s\007" "${USER}" "$(hostname)" "${PWD}"

I know some terminals like tabby does that automatically for you

FWIW ghostty shows username@machinename:directory as the title when in an ssh session by default

yea I think is possible to add an integration to ssh, rio doesn't do yet by default. Could you upen an issue about it?
