Overdue shows completed tasks #817

Because of my lack of diligence, I usually have many overdue but not yet finished tasks :) If these were hidden by default, it could cause problems at least for my personal use case. However it shouldn’t be a big deal to introduce a new filter that, when toggled, hides all tasks with a due date before today. Would that solve the issue on your end? |

In the filters tab, you can flip a toggle to show/hide completed tasks. When it's turned off, completed tasks won't show. Doesn't that solve your problem? From a usability perspective, it'd be a bit confusing if the due date attributes filter would suddenly automatically hide completed to-dos, whereas the other attribute filters do not. I think they should all behave the same way to prevent confusion. |

Hi, I use Sleek daily, big fan. I don't think this warrants a bug report, but it at least deserves to open a discussion.
Currently, the Due date section shows any task that has a due date, even if the task is done. This not only clutters my UI pretty fast but, if I use "Human friendly dates", it will show completed tasks as "Overdue", which is wrong.
The only way to avoid this is to archive all completed tasks, which isn't ideal because there are completed tasks I don't want to archive just yet.
This could be mitigated by (as seen here #783 ) archiving tasks individually, but still, that doesn't seem like the best solution.
Personally, I would expect completed tasks to disappear from the Due dates side panel, as I don't need a quick access to them anymore, so I'd vote for that solution, but other users might disagree (I don't see why, but they might)
It might not seem like much of a problem, but after using Sleek for... I don't know, two, three years? it's my main point of friction with the program. Even archiving regularly, I'd say that the Due dates section has lost usefulness for me: it leads me to think that I have more pending tasks than I actually do, and I have to click each date to see that everything there is completed, so maybe unconsciously, I tend to avoid the section altogether, and I've missed some actually overdue tasks because of it.
