Scan doesn't find my S5

So I did the "Installing Valetudo" part according to instructions, but scan doesn't return any results. I can see the WiFi network and can connect to it, but 192.168.8.1 returns ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED. Android companion app says it's successfully connected to WiFi, but then scan results are empty - "No Valetudo found on this network"

Any advice? 🤞🙏

Wrong repo for this version of Valetudo.
Anyhow.. if you change your WiFi network TCP to match the Valetudo one and connect a computer or phone to the robot.. instead of using the app you should be able to connect the vacuum to your network following the instructions there. @Karmalakas welcome 🙏

if you closed the window, it was not flashed. dead giveaway is the ssh not working. your robot is not rooted.

also, this is the wrong repo for that version of valetudo.

OK, so I tried reflashing and left the window open until light on the robot stopped blinking, but same result 😞

Would you point me to the correct repo? The miioota one doesn't have issues or discussions enabled, so I'm not sure where to ask for help ☹️

• You need to setup a laptop or computer to use a TCP/IP manual configuration, set IP 192.168.8.100 / Subnet 255.255.255.0 in your flashing devices where you have miota and binaries from dustbiulder.
• The vacuum must be reset (your specific vacuum reset procedure) for an S5 dock button + reset until the charm (but please confirm as it is always better and long ago I did it).
• ping 192.168.8.1 to check the connection between your flashing device and vacuum, if it fails check your network settings.
• run miota and follow this instruction basically.
• From my experience running the setup in windows machine and using the above procedure is possible to setup both versions of Valetudo, miota works with the powershell 32bit of windows (note some google on how to use power shell could be useful for paths and so on) when you have a mac, simply miota do not work you need a virtual box and things get more complicated.
• Once miota finish to flash the vacuum, you must wait till it reboot, it is possible you might repeat the process, anyhow usually, the vacuum should be after routing reachable at http://192.168.8.1. there you setup the connection to your router.
• Once this is done you should get the vacuum connected to your network and you can return to DHCP mode for your flashing device.
  you are installing a non Rand256 version.. so you are in the wrong repo when you want to continue here anyhow hope this helps.. if you want to use Rand256 you can simply use Miota too but you need to update the MD5 file with the files you can download from this repo. Either the cases careful with the path of the binaries.

The SSH keys and login methods between the two version of Valetudo are different, with Rand256 is quite simple, actually to SSH the vacuum. ssh root@192.168.8.1 = user@host (if you use ssh).

It works well but can be a little frustrating because it requires several try and yep I can understand you, the procedures are a little.. overwhelming.. but I guess you can understand why.. is a step by step process.

I tried all of that, but after flashing it didn't restart. As I mentioned, the flashing process was very quick, I've got a success message and Exiting in a few seconds. Now I can't connect neither to Valetudo nor Xiaomi original FW after resetting again. Getting "Failed to obtain authentication information" and robot is unusable 😞

Can anyone point me to the correct repo where I could ask questions or is there a way I could try this Rand version? Should I just try following instructions here?

in your first post you linked towards the original Valetudo instructions. Have you tried using its support structures? i.e. its github repo or the Telegram groups? if you're on reddit you can also try posting on https://www.reddit.com/r/valetudorobotusers/

Also @Karmalakas I hope you factory reset the S5 and the robot is on its dock, otherwise the OTA flash will not work.
