autocompete not working

I have been trying to stay way from VSCode for awhile by using Pulsar for my c++ coding ... well I give up :( ... autocomplete in Pulsar is just TOTAL SHIT ... is there a reason for this? Anybody knows?

Try installing pulsar-ide-clangd. When properly configured, it should offer C/C++ autocompletion and symbol resolution (go-to-declaration, project-wide symbol search).

Depending on your platform, further setup might be needed; macOS ships with clangd, but follow these instructions for other platforms.

clangd relies on a compile_commands.json file to know how to autocomplete symbols in a given project, but I imagine that VS Code uses the same strategy, so this should not be unfamiliar.

Open an issue if you run into any snags.

Not the right one — that's the response for textDocument/publishDiagnostics. Try filtering your console output on textDocument/documentSymbol.

(Though that could be one explanation for why it's not identifying more symbols in the file.)

OK, so it looks like clangd is giving you one symbol for that file. I don't know why, but it's probably down to configuration (compile_commands.json, most likely) or those diagnostic errors you encountered earlier.

I don't do a lot of C++ development, so I'm not sure how to proceed. You might want to experiment with other .cpp files and see if any of them give you more than one symbol. I'm sorry I couldn't figure this one out.
