Feature request: timeline plugin

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Our Planning Team would like to explore the options of enabling a Timeline plugin. They have been using images in the past and unfortunately, those are not ADA accessible. This is a function that will be part of their project page template and regularly used for proposed planning projects.

I know your team does not typically offer customizations but I'm hoping we can look into offering this level of service. As we look to do a universal redesign of the site I hope we can have an honest conversation about the level of administration and feature support flexibility we can enable for our City so we leverage the flexibility of the Wordpress platform and continue our relationship with ProudCity for the next iteration of San Rafael's website.

@kevindherman yes we can use this plugin. It works with default WP pages, but does not currently work with Site Origin. I'd have to build a custom widget to integrate it into SO.

After looking at the settings I think that most customers would want the Pro features as well to do more styling of the content. This would also mean more integration work to make the admin of the plugin work with our custom WP interface, and some frontend work because there are conflicts with some of the styles. Minor conflicts, but some icons don't show up and since you can pick them users will want to see the icons they picked.

@curtismchale I think you're right about pro and using icons within our theme.

Lets discuss how much time you estimate for the custom widget for SO with the pro features so we can place in appropriately in the dev queue.

Content type name ideas:

• Timeline (matches the plugin)
• Process (makes the use case more universal and service oriented)

@kevindherman Initial work will take 3 - 5 hours. Plus any testing, feedback, changes that need to happen. We'd need to purchase the Pro version first.

@kevindherman The Cool Timeline plugin had some issues with how it was going to interface with our system which would have meant a lot of work. Specifically, the shortcode method we'd have to use to add the content to our pages had no facility to edit your parameters once you put the shortcode on the page. You had to delete it, then remember your setup and try again with the shortcode.

Also, looking into the widget there was a huge amount of stuff to tackle that meant I'd have to rebuild the entire interface and then note every change and make the updates again. I think this is unsustainable.

I did some more searching and think that Bold Timeline is a viable option to use. It requires we install one other plugin so that we can paste the shortcode from it into the SO builder but otherwise you do all the customization work in the timeline interface.
