Protege zip gpg verification error

I encountered issues verifying Protege-5.6.5-mac.zip.

I have not used gpg before and followed the steps outlined by the linked WikiHow tutorial. I wasn't able to successfully verify the .zip until I realized that the content of Protege-5.6.5-mac.zip.asc is the signature file not the public key. So I renamed Protege-5.6.5-mac.zip.asc to Protege-5.6.5-mac.zip.sig and defined the key I downloaded from https://github.com/gouttegd.gpg as the .asc file. Only then was i able to successfully verify the zip.

However despite getting Good signature from "Damien Goutte-Gattat <dgouttegattat@incenp.org>" [unknown] upon verification, I received the following warning WARNING: This key is not certified with a trusted signature! and my OS (Mac Sonoma 14.7.3 with M3 chip) is blocking use of the Protege software.

I was able to locate alternate instructions at https://protegewiki.stanford.edu/wiki/Install_Protege5_Mac - perhaps this can be linked in the release notes to improve the installation experience for Mac users?
