Hey this is just an information thread. But also a discussion thread, I suppose.
I struggled getting Google Lens added into Leechblock. I won't go into detail but y'know, if you know you know, and as such Google Lens is somewhat important to block in some manner. If you don't know, then don't worry about it.
Anyway I set out to block Google Lens with Leechblock with a delaying page, because sometimes you just need Google Lens for normal purposes, so it felt like the only way to do it was with a delay countdown. But unfortunately it doesn't work with a delay countdown, since when you drag an image onto it or CTRL-V, it brings up the delay countdown page, and once you're out of that delay countdown page, the clipboard image is gone and it goes back to the blank Lens page asking you for the image again. So it just loops like that forever.
So I thought that blocking Lens with a delay countdown was impossible. But this post is mainly to say that it is still possible, by using the URL upload instead of the drag-n-drop or clipboard. When you use the URL option that Lens has, it will properly process your image once it's out of the delaying page.
As for the pages you gotta block, it's these two:
Anyway, I know this is highly specific, but since I feel like Google Lens is somewhat relevant when it comes to this, I thought of sharing the info. Point being that it doesn't have to be all-or-nothing with Google Lens.
I would also be interested to hear if people know better methods that they use, please share if so. I'd like to hear. Cheers
