Hi @gvolpe , what do you think about transitioning this project to utilize valkey-glide under the hood ?

I support the motion :)

I was thinking maybe we can start with a first release based on the current code that uses Lettuce (think v0.0.1) to allow redis4cats users to start using this library, and aim for valkey-glide for a first v1.0.0 release.

Another idea I had was to make this library only available for Scala 3 to make it more fun for contributors to work on, but this may require further discussion. Perhaps a poll/survey will give us a sense on the number of users ditching Redis for Valkey and still using Scala 2.

Ok cool , I will create the first release , and start working on glide integration.
I'll start with the Java lib as a wrapper, however would be really cool to write it purely in Scala, as the Java layer is really just a wrapper around the rust core.

BTW - strong support for the pure scala idea.

Would be super cool to have it bound to glide as a scala direct bindings, i believe it will result in better performance and more flexibility to shape it to your needs, after all most of the functionality lay in the core, the java binding is a binding by itself.

Plus on the plus - If you choose to go even further and integrate it in, it will make the library an official client and part of the wide ecosystem, and will be the go to for cats users.

But for whatever decision, here to help if needed:)
