Is rattler-build more strict about patch format than conda-build?

In migrating to recipe format v1 and rattler-build in conda-forge/cms-combine-feedstock#9 we noticed that rattler-build panicked given a patch file that was just the diffs but not a Git patch format (c.f. conda-forge/cms-combine-feedstock#9 (comment)). Editing the patch to be an actual Git patch worked fine, and is what should be done in general, but as this had previously working as is with conda-build, does rattler-build have more strict expectations on patch files?

yes it is much more strict - it doesn't automatically try to fixup patches by trying different strip levels etc.

Thanks @beckermr! That was my assumption (and I think that's good!) but I just wanted to verify.
