Positron tab unable to be dragged around

I've noticed on and off, that I am unable to click and hold the top bar of Positron and move it around, e.g. to another screen like you do for any other Windows application.

I'm still able to maximize and minimize the application, but some reason I can't hold and drag it around. When I close the application, it works again. Not sure if anyone has encountered this before!

Could you please share your Positron version information? You can get this info by running the Help: About command in the Command Palette.

It sounds like you might be experiencing a version of microsoft/vscode#250626 / microsoft/vscode#250632 reported upstream in Code OSS. If it is in fact the same issue, we should inherit a fix once we merge in the next upstream release (fix is available starting in upstream 1.101.0.

Thanks David! I'll keep you posted when there's a release of Positron that has the upstream fixes. I'm hoping they will resolve the issue you're seeing!

Hey @davidjanmassgov, we've recently merged in upstream which brings in the possible fix I mentioned previously. Would you mind updating to the latest daily build of Positron, and letting us know if you still see the issue?

@davidjanmassgov After switching to the dailies channel, you'll need to restart Positron and for good measure, you can run the command Positron: Check for Updates... to kick off the update check. Once the update is available, you should see a notification at the bottom left gear icon prompting you to restart.

The latest daily as of today is 2025.08.0 build 81!
