Projects removed?

After installing 2025.07 (the stable release), projects are no longer supported. Is this intentional? Will projects return? If not, this is a major loss of features, and reduces usability for novice Python users.

We recently changed the name of our features to help scaffold new workspaces/projects/folders to avoid the term "project", which some folks found confusing. The command is now called Workspaces: New Folder from Template...:

You can also access this from the top bar, the workspace switcher in the top right, and the welcome screen.

Thank you for the reply and explanation. I was confused, since I couldn't find any mention of a rename in the changelog, while there is a mention of projects still there.

I think Template is more confusing myself. A Template sounds like a preset folder/file structure, like GitHub Template Repositories (https://docs.github.com/en/repositories/creating-and-managing-repositories/creating-a-template-repository), where it is synonymous with boilerplate, scaffold, etc. It does not suggest starting something new, like a new analysis project.
