Needs investigation. It appears to be a real issue.

This might have started failing when we switched to FreeBSD 13.1 in which case the change in git version that comes with the upgrade is probably the source of the issue.

However, we don't have enough CI history to know that is the cause.

In theory if it is the git version then it is probable, we might be able to recreate the issue with that version of git not on FreeBSD.

The version in the FreeBSD CI is 2.38.1.

If this is related to the git version then this will start being a problem on other platforms.

Alpine latest release (3.17) uses git version 2.38.2.

So if this indeed related to the git version, then in theory this should be reproducible on latest Alpine.
