Background
I've a SharePoint Online site with teams template and office365 groups. When a new site is created the Office365 owners group (hidden in UI - can be seen through PowerShell - the LoginName ends with _o) gets added to the SharePoint owners group. Similarly Office365 members group (which is visible in UI and can be resolved also) to SharePoint members group.
Problem
If I switch the default associated SP owners group to a different SP owners group.. or delete the associated owners group and create a new owners group... I am losing the hidden Office365 owners group from the SharePoint owners group. I am unable to add it back since it is not visible from the UI and ofcourse cannot be resolved.
Incomplete Solution
I was able to add it back through PowerShell. Now the hidden O365 owners group is becoming visible in the UI. This may cause confusion.. blob.. blob..
Questions
Firstly, can it be hidden back? seems like it is not possible since Hidden property is read only
If I do not add it back.. does it cause any problems to the SharePoint owners group/permissions.
Microsoft should have taken care then by adding the hidden O365 owners group, when we switch the associated SP owners group from "/_layouts/15/permsetup.aspx".
Overall, what are the options here?
