Rotate plane when using Cannon

I am trying to rotate the cannonjs plane example so it is parallel to the camera's view but can't seem to get it to work by just adding the rotation.x property, heres my component:

  const planeSize = 50;

  const mesh = useCannon({ mass: 0 }, body => {
    body.addShape(new CANNON.Plane())
    body.position.set(...position)
  })

  return (

    <mesh ref={mesh} rotation-x={Math.PI * -.5} receiveShadow >
      <planeBufferGeometry args={[planeSize, planeSize]} />
      <meshStandardMaterial color="#171717" />
    </mesh>
  )
}

any help would be appreciated thx!

Edit: Nvm I found my error, for anyone how has the same problem

<mesh ref={mesh} >
  <planeBufferGeometry args={[2000, 2000]} rotateX={-Math.PI / 2}></planeBufferGeometry>
  <meshStandardMaterial color="#999999"></meshStandardMaterial>
</mesh>

I forgot to add ref={mesh} which fixed the issue.
