minecraft example's player with higher camera position

I was trying to use the minecraft example's player code but only thing is that i wanna mount the camera little higher on y axis,
so tried to replace ref.current.getWorldPosition(camera.position) with camera.position.set(ref.current.position.x, 5, ref.current.position.z), but it is not working, what I am doing wrong?

ref.current.getWorldPosition(camera.position)
camera.position.y = 5
