OGCS v3.0.0.16 insists on opening OL2021:

Paul,

I'm struggling with v3.0.0.16. I have OL2021 for windows desktop installed on my Win 11 Pro 11 24h2 machine. I have OGCS 2.11.0.0 installed.

I'd like to keep using OGCS v2 while I experiment/test v3. I want to use v3 as cloud-only and not require any interaction with OL2021, whether it's running or not. Can both v2 and v3 be installed and run at the same time? If not, OK and I will uninstall v2 temporarily until v3 is working successfully "cloud-only" whether OL2021 is running or not. If I have to uninstall v2, then somehow I'd like to keep the settings so I don't have to re-create them again if/when I re-install v2. Also, I'd like to use the same settings I've established in v2 for v3 with the obvious exception of setting v3 for "Online mailbox" instead of my OL2021 mailbox.

A step-by-step guide to get v3 installed and operating correctly as I've described would be very helpful.

This would probably be better suited raised as an issue, though I'll hold off doing that just yet as it might just be a configuration problem - I certainly am able to sync to a cloud account whilst still having the Outlook client installed.

I'm assuming you've followed the steps in #1888 on setting up v3? This should mean that v3 is running off its own settings file and separate from the installed v2. With v3, you only have one Profile configured and that's set to use Outlook Online? Can you provide you v3 logfile please?

I’m sure I followed all the steps in #1888. But, of course, I could have made a mistake. I just now tried running OGCS 3.0.0.16 again with the same result – it calls for my Outlook Desktop 2021 profile. Maybe it’s something simple. Hope so. Attached is the v3 log. Thanks.

Paul, I’m sending this reply to your email from my email client. Presumably it will show up in GitHub as well as your email inbox. I pasted the log file (originally sent via email on July 29) into GitHub a few minutes ago. I hope you can figure out what I did wrong with the 3.0.0.16 installation because I’d really like to have this work and avoid interference with my OL2021 desktop app. Thanks for keeping the project going.

Thanks for the log - you're not doing anything wrong and I have raised #2170 to make OGCS behave how you are wanting. Hopefully have something posted shortly...
