Hi, I built my own controller based of an ESP32 that has been running for four years without any issues for 4 solenoids, but commercial packages with WIFI would be good, I would avoid ZIGBEE solenoids as they seem to be having communication issues and have recently been the main concern for users of this integration. The main thing is to have solid communications to the controller, people seem happy with the Sonoff 4CH Pro. The Home Assistant forum is a good place to search when you find a product that looks promising. |

I have a good experience with Kincony devices. I have https://shop.kincony.com/products/esp32-smart-controller-b16-16ch-relay and it works very good via MQTT . They have a lot of others models. Good luck. |

As a newbie to the world of automate-anything-outside-your-lamps, I'm kinda lost on how to start with watering my potted plants.
I do have some experience with troublesome Tuya devices that only work properly with the Tuya app, and with battery-powered Zigbee devices that only answer when they want to, though... So I'm a bit wary of buying "anything cheap" and then discover they don't work properly with HA.
Thus: what devices do you people have been using? And which ones you've used that you wouldn't recommend?
Thanks!
