Notifications constantly repeatly notify me until I dismiss them (undesired)

I'm not sure if this issue is a PebbleOS issue or an android app issue, but when I get notifications sent to my Pebble Time watch, like say an E-Mail comes in, it never stops re-notifying me until I dismiss on the watch or the phone.

So let's say I get two E-Mail messages come in. blip blip my watch tells me about both. Sometimes I press the "back" button on my watch just to clear the notification on the watch (but not clear it on my phone), or sometimes I just don't interact with it and the notification continues to display on the watch.

But a bunch of seconds later (I'm not sure how long, but it seems to be the same delay each time) I get notified on the watch YET AGAIN for all the notifications I did not dismiss. This happens whether I press the "back" button on my watch, or just not interact with the notification at all. And the notifications re-notify indefinitely, every time with the same delay, and will NOT stop notifying me (which vibrates of course) until I ONLY Dismiss the notification.

The problem this creates for me is I want the notification to continue to be present on my phone and I do NOT want my watch to just keep forever vibrating me and notifying me. It's extremely distracting, and obnoxious. I want to keep the notifications on my phone (at times) so that I action them when I want to. And dismissing them actually makes it easier for me to forget whatever it was I was being notified about.

However there are times I want "dismiss" to clear the notification on the phone too... it depends on the nature of the notification. So I'm not necessarily asking for a change in behaviour for "dismiss".

I don't know the best answer/solution to this problem, except that if I press "back" on a notification I DO NOT want my watch to perpetually be re-notifying me and vibrating yet again for notifications I already were sent.

I hope this makes sense, and hopefully some sort of fix can be sorted out here, because this has been giving me problem for years now. Thanks!

Which Android app are you using? If it's the original official Pebble one, I wouldn't bother reporting issues with it (it can't be updated, and the new app from Core Devices is coming soon).

Even if you're using the app from this repository, my understanding is that the current code is a dead end as well.
