Development Progress - 9/2023

Hello all! I just wanted to let everyone know that I am still actively developing this and have big plans for the next update. Unfortunately, I've been rather busy lately, but as soon as I get some free time, I will be working hard to get them tested and released.

I have created a Projects Board so users can see exactly what's being worked on and the given status of said feature/bug fix/improvement.

Planned Updates

• Convert to m4b format - Take an mp3 file that has been properly split and convert it to a single m4b file with proper chapter information (Convert to m4b #6)
• Add new experimental chapter separators - I plan to add even more items to split on, but they will be considered experimental at first until there has been enough testing. The goal is to enable them via a CLI switch or via the config file (Experimental Chapter Separators #10)
• Better chapter parsing - Some books don't follow the traditional "Chapter x" format. My goal is to improve parsing for these books by investigating the surrounding context to determine if it is a chapter break or just a number (Improve Chapter Parsing #9 )

Future Updates

Eventually, I plan to build a simple GUI wrapper that makes the project more accessible to people that aren't used to operating on the command line. This is a lower priority than the previous improvements, so stay tuned. (#5 )
