Not using the 50-59 range for out of tree dracut modules will likely lead to unintended errors in the initramfs generation process as your dracut module will either run too early or too late in the generation process. You have been warned.

Somewhat obviously, there should be some testing and discussion what is the best number for ostree. Now it seems 98, which seems perhaps a bit unnecessary high.

I skimmed the issues but wasn't finding what the problems are with high numbering. AFAIK there's nothing that depends on ostree at a build time level...)

It is more of a theoretical forward looking concern as dracut upstream expects out of tree modules in the 50-59 range when possible.

Thinking about it a bit more, if squash module is used, that might run earlier at build time than ostree which might lead to bugs. Happy to discuss and debug it together, but first would be better to consider the 50-59 range.

Basically dracut 'proper' modules have dependencies on 3rd party dracut already built.
