Feature Request: allow multiple people to pay

I want to

have multiple people paying. Example:
70 Euro Total

Person 1 pays 5
Person 2 pays 65

Split equally

This is also possible in Splitwise.

At the moment, only one person can be selected as payer.

Real-World example 1:
Person 1 pays the bill with card
Person 2 pays the tip in cash

Real-World example 2:
Person 1 and person 2 pay together with whatever cash they currently have at hand, but want to split equally or in another way.

+1 for this feature. It's really useful for splitting expenses on vacation. It's also a requirement for a complete import from Splitwise.

Unfortunately, this would involve refactoring the whole splitting logic, and probably even redoing the database schema. It was not designed by the original author with this feature in mind. I don't see it implemented in the foreseable future, so I'm turning it into a discussion to look for ways to solve this
