The number of Moon Phases

Hello.
Considering that there are 4 basic moon phases (new moon, first quarter, full moon, last quarter), in order to fit the total number of the images into these 4 phases, interspersing x phases between each of them, we would have: 4 + 4 x = 8 images (for x=1), 12 (for x=2), 28 (for x=6) or 32 (for x=7). I do not understand the reasons why the number of phases compatible with ZeppOS are 7, 13 or 30, which do not permit a precise adjustment of the lunar phases with the corresponding images.
Is there any reason why the number of images has to be 7, 13, or 30?

I can understand why 30 images are used. The lunar month lasts 30 days (29.5 days to be exact). This is probably correct from the astronomical point of view. But most people are used to dividing the lunar cycle into 4 phases (or 8 if with intermediate phases). I think for many people it is more familiar.
Why it is recommended to use also 7 or 13 images I don't understand either.

I understand that 30 images is the closest to 29.5 days of the approximate time of the lunar cycle, but in any case, there must be a programming adjustment to correct the imbalance of 1 image that will exist every 2 lunar cycles. With 32 images, for example, we could adjust them at regular intervals (which should also be corrected internally into ZeppOS) showing the 4 main phases (even 8) at regular intervals. In fact, on the ZeppOS specifications page, the 30 example images that are set, number 15 fits with a full moon, but none with a new moon (neither 1 nor 30). In any case, they have chosen that number and there are no other options that can fit.
