Using the networking downloader with the simulator

Is there a reason that all requests using the downloader fail with a timeout? I even tried the sample downloader app and that failed in the same way. The fetch API is working fine but requests to the same URL with the downloader fail...

Yep, the same.
My code works fine on the real device, but it's a real pain when it comes to debugging on the simulator.
