Current behavior

1. Create a link through CLI or within web-client
2. Try to delete any link and get this error message flashing (had to take a screenshot)

Expected behavior

Enter word delete and press the delete button. Link deleted.

Minimum steps to reproduce

I'm using the Truecharts deployment.

I checked if it could've been an option with env vars but couldn't find anything relevant but this one DELETE_SHORT_URL_THRESHOLD which I haven't configured. Unless it would be hidden in the Truecharts deployment.

Shlink does not allow deleting short urls with more than 15 visits, to avoid losing data by mistake.

The DELETE_SHORT_URL_THRESHOLD env var is precisely used to customize this threshold, allowing you to provide a different value, or disabling the check entirely by setting -1.

However, if this threshold was the cause, the error message would be different. Can you check Shlink logs? There should be an error trace when that happens.

I also found out I can't delete AND edit anything.

Logs are somewhat not elusive to me.

The web-client is full of these lines which seems like the normal behaviour I guess.

The server logs doesn't log anything when I'm trying to delete or edit but there seems to be a lot of errors related to postgresql db.

It might the the request is getting blocked before reaching Shlink then. What do you see in the browser console's network tab when trying to do any of those actions?

There should be a request failing which should be returning a response, or perhaps there's a blocked request due to CORS not working properly if the ingress or whatever host in front of Shlink is messing-up with the CORS headers.

In any of those cases, there should be some error printed in the browser console.

Yeah, those seem to be liveness proves from Kubernetes.

Thank you for replying. It was indeed the CORS being rejected. I had these CORS issues at first which made it impossible to connect to the server at all. I thought I had fixed these by checking that box in the Truecharts deployment options under Traefik.

Yesterday I found this user giving a way to make it work but to be honest I don't understand where to apply the solution he provided.

I imagine Traefik only enables GET and POST requests when you check that checkbox, as those are the most common ones. That's why it looked like it worked... Until you tried endpoints that use different HTTP verbs, like DELETE (for deleting short URLs) or PATCH (for editing).

The solution from https://github.com/shlinkio/shlink-web-client/discussions/793, is a slightly hacky workaround which implies forwarding REST endpoints from Shlink through the same domain used to serve shlink-web-client. That way requests are no longer cross-origin.

Ideally it should be possible to let Traefik forward all CORS headers generated by Shlink to the browser.

If I remember correctly, there has been other people reporting issues with Traefik, so there should be issues or discussions in this repository.
