Planet Web 3.0 seems fine, Quake 3 seems fine, but Daytona USA won't download the key it needs. how do I know what version of DreamPi I'm running in retronas? It would be handy to know this to figure out if it's out dated etc. thanks

we install the latest python3 compatible branch

so you are on HEAD (latest) of the python3 branch from the repo located here https://github.com/sargunv/dreampi/tree/python3 that hasn't been updated in a long while.

might be a problem with their end atm with that specific game but the server we are pointing to seems to be up, I am not setup to test this at the moment but if one thing works over dreampi on retronas they should all work.

testing through the browser on pc, download of the key works fine after registration. DAYTKEY_.VMI file is downloaded

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to comment and help with this!

I'd like to be able to test for all games via the PC first if possible to work all this out. I've tried ChuChu Rocket this morning and get the exact same issue 'Host could not be found' and of that it's saying it's http://chuchu.web.dreamcast.com

how specifically should I be testing this on a computer? because if I put it in web browser it doesn't load

Appears there is a new derivative of dreampi at "version 1.9 DLE" we don't support this version on RetroNAS and it appears there is no github or archive for us to pull. I need to do some more investigation but if that is the version that supports Daytona, it may prove problematic to use RetroNAS for this.

So yes as per this post https://dreamcastlive.net/blogs/post/daytona-usa-is-back-online/ you will need to use at least version 1.8 for Daytona online

I successfully played Quake 3 after repairing my VLI tonight, that did however lead me to an issue with our installer on Debian Bookworm so i will push a fix for that as well and then take a look at the DLE version at some point in time

the Daytona browser doesn't appear compatible with my PAL modem, so I can't test that game unfortunately

We probably can't support these new DLE versions as they still seem to be running on python2 which was end-of-life ~5y ago and modern distros don't provide python2 anymore.

the dle version of the project would need to move to python3 for us to be able to add support.
