How can I run play on port 80 & 443 ?

I am facing the bellow error on running playframework .deb file on ubuntu ec2 instance

On most systems you need elevated permissions to run something on port 80. I would search "run a server on port 80 on [your os here]". Or run as root but that comes with even more security issues.

Agreed, this has nothing to do with Play.
You could run Play with a system user and/or group that has permissions to listen to ports < 1024. Or you could use a reverse proxy like nginx that accepts your requests at port 80/443 and forwards them to your running Play Framework instance.
