Would it be possible to add an optional online map mode that works when connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data, while keeping offline maps as the default?
The idea is that if someone recommends a place in a region I haven’t downloaded yet, I could still search, view it, and save it as a bookmark immediately. Later, if I need offline access, I can download the full region as usual. This would make Organic Maps more convenient for quickly saving places, planning trips, or exploring new areas—while still preserving its offline-first philosophy for privacy and independence.
