Via ferratas (commonly tagged highway:via_ferrata) are currently not displayed in the app.
They are not trails for everyone. They require hikers to have specific training, and often specific equipment.
However, the tag is commonly used wherever a safety steel cable is present, regardless of the difficulty, which is described by sac_scale and others.
So you can have inconsistencies like a relatively easy trail with cable (not displayed) and a much more difficult and dangerous trail without cable (displayed).
Moreover, many trails are mixed (parts with and without cable), so they will be only partially displayed, with a quite confusing result.
Such situations are often present in the Alps region.
The common solution to this (on local maps and other OSM-based apps) is to use a specific symbology for trail with cable, usually crosses. Hikers expect that on any topo map. In that way, they can get conscious to avoid them if unprepared.
In my opinion (as in many other maps), path symbology should be based on sac_scale (even trail_visibility might be somehow taken into account), except for via ferrata portions, which should have dedicated symbology.
