Rerouting can it be improved?

When ignoring the active route by not taking the (e.g.) right turn rerouting is pretty slow, sometimes freezes or makes the map rotating seemingly randomly before it projects the adjusted route. This behavior happens too often to be a fluke. Last year I mentioned this issue as well although it was worse then making the app freeze sometimes. I searched for this issue but didn't find it reported.

Running Android 16.

Anybody else this sounds familiar to?

Do you store downloaded maps on SD card? Do you have many maps downloaded? That may influence how fast routes are rebuilt and also may be related to freezes.

Thanks for responding. No, don't even have a slot for those. I also only downloaded a few small map sections around my hometown. I have a Pixel 7 Pro but the same problem occurs on mu older (but very fast) Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.

I do need to say that it specifically occurs if the device reroutes on itself when I ignored a turn or something. And the more streets arround the bigger the problem. For reference, Google Maps and OSMAnd don't have that problem.

Please follow #4303 and update with more info about the freeze. Does it mean that the app does not respond? Or location is not updated?

It is definitely a bug. If you enable logs in OM settings, reproduce a hard-freeze, and share logs with us using the Report a bug button, we may check what's going on there. Referencing this discussion and approx. time of the issue would be helpful too.
