DateTimer available and unavailable dates handling

Looking to implement more of the flatpickr options on DateTimer and have a question regarding the available() and unavailable() methods i'm introducing e.g

DateTimer::make('open')
                        ->title('Opening date')
                        ->help('The opening event will take place')
                        ->unavailable([['from' => new \Carbon('2021-04-04'), 'to' => '2021-04-10'],['from' => '2021-04-25', 'to' => '2021-05-01']]),

As Carbon 2 supports json serialisation this works fine, however isn't intuitive on what should be passed to the function unless you read the doc blocks e.g

    /**
     * Disable specific set of dates for selection
     * 
     * [new \Carbon('2021-04-04'), '2021-04-27', '2021-04-20']
     * 
     * or ranges
     * 
     * [ 
     *     ['from' => new \Carbon('2021-04-04'), 'to' => '2021-04-10'],
     *     ['from' => new \Carbon('2021-04-25'), 'to' => '2021-05-01'],
     *     
     * ]
     *
     * @param array $dates
     *
     * @return $this
     */
    public function unavailable(array $dates = []): self
    {
        $this->set('data-datetime-disable', json_encode($dates));

        return $this;
    }

Also if several calls are made, should the new values be appended or overwrite previous calls?
