custom metadata, extended attributes, webdav properties

Hi,

as far as i can tell (minimal reading of docs, discussions), opencloud supports custom metadata when utilizing:

• extended filesystem attributes
• webdav properties

But those aren't exposed in the default webclient at the moment? Are these two independent of another or could they be in sync (webdav prop <-> extended attribute)?

I'd like to know, if the above assumptions are correct, and if there is documentation for these topics that should/could be consulted.

For now i assume, that for utilizing extended attributes / webdav props, the way to go would be to develop an extension for the webclient, or are there other ways for this?

I'd appreciate any input on how to get started for the (quite general) feature: "utilize custom metadata".

Would absolutely support this. This is the only thing stopping me from moving from proprietary solutions such as Viewpoint/Aconex/Asite/Sharepoint Document Libraries which allow documents to be uploaded and append rich Metadata (rather than just tags) such as from defined picklist values with custom user columns. E.g., if I wanted to add a 'status' column against a document I can then select the file and pick a value from a defined picklist. That'd be amazing!
