MPF and VPX

Hello all, a newbie to the community here and a search didn't yield an answer I was looking for. If I completely missed some thread where this is answered in detail, please excuse my ignorance.

Question:
As a group of friends embark on a DIY project, we are looking to leverage FAST, built on MPF. We were wondering how well MPF actuates on VPX as well. Our hope is we can build on MPF and playtest on VPX. When things are all ready from a hardware standpoint, we integrate with FAST and are on our way.

I see some threads close to this high level question, where for instance some community members are challenges with lighting / RGB but Im still unclear. I wonder, is our hope / intent correct?
