Do you mean SD card?
If so just change backup location in Data and storage to any folder in SD Card (restrictions may apply depending on Android version and filesystem) and ta-da! Any downloads will be stored in that folder.

Actually, I wanted to download scans from the app to a NAS like Nextcloud and then be able to retrieve them from any device (tablet/smartphone), but it seems that the app blocks saving anywhere other than locally
